Hi everyone
I have sent my first draft to my group and waiting for an answer. I also posted it to the discussion board for anyone who wants to can also comment on it.
I had revised it a little since then and was not sure if I should resubmit it. I know everyone is busy during this holiday season. Hopefully after it is over everything will go back to normal ( whatever normal is..lol).
I had a great christmas, I got to spend time with one of my grandchildren. My granddaughter was here with me and she loved her little kitchen and shopping cart. though I do believe she loved the shopping cart the best, she pushed it everywhere she went in the house, as soon as I can i will be updating her picture on my blog.
See you all in seminar next year. Have a safe and wonderful New Year's Eve.

College Compisition II
Hi everyone
It has been a crazy week for me. trying to everything ready for Christmas and work. i almos forgot the blood drive at work was on Tuesday and it is my job to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. (talk about stress) I am going to put just a touch of my first draft here and hopefully you guys can give me some feedback. I love to write and I seem to be having a hard time with this paper and I am lost as to why. Here it is:
Hypertension is known as the silent killer and the reason would be, because most people do not know they have this disease. Hypertension unchecked can affect the heart, kidneys, and even the brain. Most of the people who have hypertension are not aware of this until it is too late. The unaware need to be educated on the effects of hypertension and what it can do to the body. Some effects can be short term, others long term and still others can be fatal. According to Rech, of the one third of Americans only about two-thirds are aware of their hypertension. (2008)
Hypertension can affect the arteries. Healthly arteries are flexible and strong, elastic. (Mayoclinic) High blood pressure can damage the inner lining of the artery causing what we know as an aneurysm. This is when the pressure on the artery can rupture and cause internal bleeding which is life threatening.
The arteries are not the only thing affected by hypertension. The heart, kidneys, eyes and your brain can also be affected. It will cause your heart to over work to keep blood pumping to your other organs and increase the risk of a heart attack.

My writing style
Hi Everyone,
My writing style I would have to say is freewriting. This is the only one I ever used. I always just start writing my paper and then just keep fine tuning as I go. I know in seminar when I was trying to enter the Thesis statement and four points, I kept hitting enter forgetting that i just needed to keep typing. I thought, ok just enter it on your blog page and that might help.
Thesis statement:
Hypertension is a silent killer. Education on prevention and control is sorely needed for everyone.
1. The effects of hypertension can be devastating, it can include mini-strokes, brain damage and even paralysis.
2. Education should start at the physician level, if they are showing even the slightest sign of hypertension.
3. Control of this disease can start with proper diet and regular exercise.
4. Stress is another factor in hypertension. Everyone always in a rush and not taking time for themselves and just relaxing.

Unit 4 Posting - Plagerism
Hello Everyone
Plagerism is a scarey word to everyone. It can happen at any time and be completely unintentional. Even when you were in grammar school and writing that book report. You were trying to impress the teacher and used words or phrases from the book without thinking that you were actually trying to take credit for someone else's work. As you grow older and attend college it can be an even bigger slippery slope to be on. I know that it scares me tremedously that while writing my paper I will do something wrong or not give credit for something, even if it was just an oversight.
I love to write and always thought I was pretty good at it, but now in learning how to not plagerize it makes me wonder if in any of the writings I did, was there plagerism on my part.
I do know that I am the type of person that needs step by step instructions, as well as hands on, to really understand what is expected of me.
